Frequently Asked Questions
Where is the home rink?
Team Kentucky is a KAIHA-sanctioned program, therefore tryouts and team practices will be held at its home rink, Iceland Sports Complex in Louisville, Kentucky.
Who will be coaching the team?
Louie Abounader will plan on being the official head coach for all the Team Kentucky age groups. However, assistant coaches will not be determined until tryouts are completed and will be contingent upon team formation. If you are interested in volunteering as an assistant coach for any of our teams, there is a section in the registration process that will ask if you are interested in doing so, and you will be considered for the position. The same goes for team managers and tournament coordinators.
What will be the roster size?
Depending on each age group's tryouts turnout, rosters will likely include 17-20 players, which includes two goalies and excludes practice players.
Will girls be permitted at tryouts?
Absolutely, all teams will be co-ed.
Are there spaced-out, partial payment options?
No, the full cost for the tournament option you selected in the registration process must be paid when we begin collecting team dues after tryouts.
What happens if we cannot make the only tryout date?
Please reach out to me separately and we can arrange for an alternative option for you. However, I still expect everyone to show up for tryouts so please don't rely on this method. Only utilize this option for very particular circumstances.
